Duda helped revolutionize the operations of this British digital marketing agency, enabling them to streamline processes, scale up, and provide more technically advanced websites to clients and agencies worldwide.
KangarooUK's journey with Duda began almost 5 years ago at a UK local networking event. Peter Jones, Commercial Director at the full-service digital marketing agency, was expressing his frustration about being unable to meet his clients' demands. He was working with 5 different website building platforms.
"It was a real hassle dealing with different developers and navigating different code languages. Our designer team spent too much time explaining how they wanted the site to look. We simply couldn't build not even one site a month, it was so frustrating", Jones recalls.
At the event, someone mentioned an agency that was building 12 to 15 websites a month, to which Jones responded, "That's impossible." But he was intrigued and took the agency's contact information and scheduled a meeting. He was surprised to find that the agency had 6 designers who built websites on Duda.
Jones recalls thinking, "This is a real game changer; it's going to transform my world!" And after starting working with Duda, he says he felt bad for having wasted so much time with other website building platforms.
During their first month using Duda, KangarooUK was able to deliver 4 new websites. "What used to take half a day in WordPress now just takes half an hour in Duda", says Peter Jones.
Now, designers create the websites directly in Duda, and KangarooUK's project manager streamlines the process even further.
According to Jones, clients often don't know what they need for their website, and their information is scattered. The project manager's role is to gather all these needs and information and create a project for the designer.
The process is straightforward:
On average, KangarooUK builds 10 sites a month. "While we know of agencies in the Duda network that build 50 to 70 sites a month, we focus on building more complex and sophisticated websites," says Jones.
After 2 years of using Duda, KangarooUK decided to upgrade their plan exactly because they wanted to build more technical websites, including custom widgets and eCommerce functionality.
Despite initial hesitation over the commitment, Peter Jones and the team never looked back. The upgraded plan enabled them to improve their processes and tackle technical challenges for clients and other agencies.
Jones and his team now have regular consultations with Duda's account managers to address any obstacles they encounter.
They also became a Duda Expert, and now serve agencies from around the world. As a Duda Expert, they have gained visibility and attracted new clients with even more complex technical needs. Together, they are pushing the limits of the platform and seeing continual improvement, according to Jones.
Website building services are now the primary source of revenue for KangarooUK, accounting for 33% of their total income in 2022. Prior to using Duda, website building only accounted for a small fraction (5-6%) of their business.
"Many agencies say they can't make money from website building, but I tell them to send their clients my way and I'll build them at a lower cost, with a commission on top. They have high-priced developers and need to charge their clients more," says Jones.
Since adopting Duda, KangarooUK has not lost any clients, but instead, they have been retaining clients for longer, thanks to annual proposals for refreshing existing sites.
The agency has experienced a 300% YoY growth over the past three years, and they attribute much of their success to the efficiency and accuracy of their quotes.
