Enable Tipping & Watch Revenues Grow
Tips have been a service industry standard for years. Who doesn’t go to a restaurant without leaving a 10 or 15 percent tip? Now, with so many transactions taking place online, tips are moving to eCommerce, which is great news for your eCommerce customers.
This new
tipping capability enables tips to be added to any type of online store: from restaurants providing take-out and delivery to cake shops, flower shops, clothing stores and more. Simply add the tip button at checkout and select the amounts you want to offer customers.
You can choose whether customers see their tipping options as a percent of the total cost (5%, 10% or 20%) or offer set tipping amounts ($5, $10 or $20). You can also customize the text above the tipping buttons, so it reflects the tone and style of the site. Tips are automatically calculated and displayed, so the entire process is simple and transparent.
3 Ways to Integrating Tipping into Your Online Stores
Old-fashioned gratuity:
For customers in the restaurant business, tips are a common practice in brick-and-mortar establishments, so it will be familiar to online customers too.
Supporting small businesses: Everyone knows these are complicated times and some businesses turn to crowdfunding to help them over a hump. If your client’s business needs money, they can let dedicated customers know and use this feature to collect funding.
Donations:
This feature can also be used to collect donations for non-profit organizations. Adjust the text on the tipping button so visitors know how the donations will be used, and you’re set to collect.
Getting Started is Easy
To enable tips on your eCommerce sites, go to Settings > General > Cart & Checkout. Scroll down to Tips and gratuity > Tip settings. From here, set the wording, and whether you want to offer tipping that is a fixed amount or calculated by percentage. Enable and republish to display the tipping on your site.
